Eating Paleo Doesn't Always Mean Breaking The Bank $$$$$$

What next you ask... after some brainstorming here a few ideas on how to not break the bank when grocery shopping Paleo style.
- Shop your local farmers markets- not only are you supporting your community but you are helping small businesses. While you may think farmers markets are pricey there always deals to be made. (Try negotiating, opt to go when you know they are packing up for the day and maybe you can cut a deal)
- Buy in season- or at least try to. I know it's January and we live in Chicago, but not everything is out of season... (buying fruits/veggies that are in season always taste better anyways, as they spend less time in transit)
- Buy in Bulk (whenever possible that is) We live in a household of just two, well not including our furry friends... so we know that it's not always more cost effective but just know what works for you.
- Buy Frozen (Fruits, vegetables, and fish) are great options to save a few bucks here and there. If you're making smoothies for breakfast, no need to use fresh fruit (Just make sure you are checking the ingredients). Fish is also a great option to buy frozen as opposed to fresh.
- Don't be Wasteful be creative when it comes to cooking... something as simple as using your bacon grease to cook with not only tastes awesome but it's cost effective as well. Buy a whole chicken; it's often more expensive to buy boneless, skinless- this way you can make your own chicken broth as well. Your fruits getting old, pop it in the blender and make a smoothie out of it, you won't even taste that your strawberries have begun to soften.
Great tips
